FIRST ANNUAL COMPASSION FORUM
The first-ever Compassion Forum for Assemblies of God World Missions was held in August in Dallas, Texas. The forum brought together about 135 AG world missionaries and missions ministry leaders, as well as outside agencies and resource individuals to network, strategize, provide training and resources, and dialogue on using the compassionate hands of Christ to reach many parts of the world today that are experiencing great disease, trauma and disaster.
Because of the tremendous success of the first event, it was decided to make this an annual forum. This year’s forum will be held again in August. For further information, a blog site has been set up. Those invited to the event will receive invitations via e-mail.
AG SCHOOL OF MISSIONS GAP DISPLAY
A full classroom-size, walk-through GAP display with a sample AIDS Clinic was created at AG School of Missions to introduce about a hundred candidate and veteran missionaries attending to the potential for compassion ministry to AIDS victims and those affected by the disease around the world.
The impact was palpable in the room, as people saw and heard what this tragedy is doing, and how it is possible to reach multitudes with the gospel at their most open point in their lives.
